Mathilden complex Bad Teinach/Emberg

It is characterized by walking paths in a southern half-elevation location at the lower Emberger Kopf.

Presumably, this network of paths in the Emberg Forest, complete with stone resting places , was built at her instigation. Starting from here are the "Mathildenstaffeln ," a staircase of over 600 steps leading from Bad Teinach to Emberg. It is likely that she rarely visited these paths, as she was quite overweight in the last decade of her life. As a token of her appreciation, she bequeathed the town a foundation, the proceeds of which were earmarked annually for the traditional St. James's Day festival.
