The nature reserves “Gültlinger und Holzbronner Heiden” and “Gebersack” are located about 10 km south of the large district town. Calw and east of the Nagoldtals.
The unfertilized, flower-rich meadows and juniper heaths were once widespread in Gültlingen and Holzbronn, on the limestone-rich, shallow, nutrient-poor, and sun-exposed slopes. What can be seen today are only the remnants of what were once much larger areas. Nevertheless, a trip into the open Heckengäu region with its expansive views is always a wonderful experience.
