Interview with Black Forest guide Monika Amann about the Albtal adventure track.
Ms. Amann, thank you very much for allowing us to conduct an interview with you about the Albtal Adventure Track!
Could you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
Gladly; Monika Amann, Black Forest guide, sporty and with diverse interests. Deeply connected to her homeland, a bit of a Black Forest enthusiast, and always curious about everything the region has to offer.
Why did you become a Black Forest guide?
The forest and everything that goes with it has always attracted and fascinated me.
Now that I've retired, I finally have the time to pursue my favorite pastime: experiencing nature, herbs, geology, water, and local history. I can learn something new every day.
What is the Albtal Track?
A challenging, eventful and scenic hike through the back part of the Alb valley near Bad Herrenalb; partly on narrow paths, forest roads, woodland trails and cross-country tracks without signage and only marked by "sprayed-on 3 trees".
What is special about this hiking tour?
The closeness to nature, venturing into the forest off the beaten track, searching for and following the path. Embracing a small adventure. Experiencing the silence and solitude of the forest. The opportunity to discover small wonders along the way.
Who created the track and why?
The trail was developed by AlbtalPlus in cooperation with the Black Forest Central/North Nature Park. It leads past remarkable natural monuments, viewpoints and streams, connecting diverse valley and mountain landscapes with protected forests, raised bogs, boulder fields, managed forests and much more.
They offer guided tours along the Albtal-Track; what can guests expect and what level of fitness should they have?
Guests should be in good physical condition. Each leg of the hike involves an ascent of 1000 meters and covers 25 kilometers. The trail, which sometimes crosses boulder fields, fallen trees, and includes steep uphill sections, is challenging. A packed lunch, sufficient water, and appropriate, weatherproof clothing are essential.
You also have a great selection of tours for guests. Could you tell us more about that?
All my tours, covering topics such as wild herbs, settlement history, the full moon, the Forest Wide Web, geology, and water, can be booked individually. Further information can be found at https://amanntour.de. Additional photos and event information are available on Facebook and Instagram. My tours are suitable for families, individuals, and groups.
But companies can also use these services. Topics can be combined or modified as needed, depending on the participants' wishes.
