Hiking service in the Black Forest
all-around hiking experience
That's what makes hiking with us so special
Hiking in the Northern Black Forest goes far beyond just the hiking trails ! We currently have 1486km of uniformly marked hiking trails according to the marking system of the Black Forest Association.
Blue diamond trail markers , yellow diamond trail markers , and long-distance hiking trails crisscross the entire hiking region, opening up the most beautiful hiking destinations. In addition, we offer certified tours, premium and quality hiking trails , which are the icing on the cake of our hiking offerings.
Have you ever stood at a signpost ? The signpost name not only gives you information about your location, including altitude, but it's also a rescue point!
But what would all those kilometers of hiking be without a delightful stop for refreshments, including Swabian and Black Forest specialties? Our hiking huts provide the perfect solution, along with traditional country inns and cozy beer gardens.
Does your idea of enjoyment include hiking without luggage ? Fortunately, there are numerous hosts, especially the quality hosts of "Wanderbares Deutschland" (Hiking in Germany ), who offer such services.
And the best part: Many of our tours are easily accessible by public transport . Thanks to the KONUS guest card, this is even completely free for many visitors to the region. Plus, you can skip the search for a parking lot!
Black Forest Association
Without our Black Forest Association , our hiking region would be far from what it is today! The local groups and their trail wardens maintain our hiking trails, mark them, and thus ensure reliable orientation in our forests. Furthermore, the local groups offer a fantastic program of tours, which both locals and visitors can enjoy.
Such an offer is doubly worthwhile: you don't have to worry about finding a route, so you can be sure you're going on a beautiful hike, and you also learn fascinating stories and incredible details that you would otherwise certainly miss. That's what it's like when you're out and about with Black Forest experts!
Our hiking guidance system
But how does our signage work, what is the system behind the signage , and why can attentive hiking even defuse emergencies?
First of all, our hiking trails are marked with diamonds. The Black Forest Association's trail network has three categories , each marked with different symbols: long-distance trails, regional trails, and local trails.
Long-distance hiking trails : The long-distance hiking trails lead through the Black Forest in several day stages. They are consistently marked with their own unique symbol.
Regional hiking trailsRegional hiking trails complement the network of long-distance hiking trails, connecting well-known places and landscapes. Regional hiking trails are characterized by... blue diamond characterized.
Local hiking trailsThey integrate local hiking destinations and starting points into the hiking trail network. They are connected to the yellow diamond .
The marker safely guides the hiker from one signpost to the next.
And what about safety if something happens to you along the way? You can take precautions by paying attention to the names of the locations you pass. Every location name can be accessed by the emergency services, and if you know the location, help can reach you quickly.
