Hiking on certified trails
Those who use certified hiking trails in Germany are guaranteed to always hike on the best paths. Whether premium hiking trails or quality trails – the certification is a seal of approval for the quality of the hiking experience. This ensures that the trails are not only perfectly marked in both directions, but also offer scenic highlights, varied surfaces, and many attractive routes.
In addition, our "Quality Region Hiking in Germany" offers first-class hiking tours that have been specially designed and separately signposted at the trail markers to meet the highest standards. These tours will also lead you to the most beautiful spots in the region.
Here we've compiled the best tours the Northern Black Forest has to offer. With varying lengths between 5 and 22 kilometers , different elevation profiles, and trail conditions, you're sure to find the perfect hike for you. Whether you're looking for a challenging day hike or a leisurely stroll, we've got you covered.
Our hiking trails are very well connected to the bus and train network . Especially on weekends, this is an environmentally friendly and straightforward way to start your hike. Selected bwegt routes are coordinated with the bus and train schedules, offering hourly connections between the starting point and destination.

How about a walk?
The Zollernblickweg is the first and so far only Premium walking trail in our region. The tour 7,2 km long tour leads across wide meadows with fantastic views, over natural root paths and through dense forests, once around the idyllic village of Oberlengenhardt near Schömberg.
Certified family hiking fun
In this adventure trail at Bad Herrenalb While you're very unlikely to encounter a wildcat, you'll learn a lot about these animals. For example... 6 km is about the Quality trail “family fun” over hill and dale, sometimes across meadow paths, sometimes through large ferns, sometimes on narrow paths in the shady forest.
First-class, even without an award
bwegt hiking trails in the region
Hiking and local transport go perfectly together: those who travel by train to their hiking tour are not only doing themselves a favor, but also the climate. All bwegt hiking trails are certified routes that you can easily reach by bus and/or train. Instead of following a loop from trailhead to trailhead, they take you on a linear tour from stop to stop. The routes can be identified nationwide by the "bwegt hiking trail" seal.
With a ticket in the bwtarif system, you can return to the start of the tour or head straight home: bwegt.de/bwtarif
