Culinary delights in the Northern Black Forest
Discover regional cuisine, specialties you might only know from stories, or dishes that are famous far beyond the Black Forest. Regionality is paramount, as exemplified by our certified Nature Park hosts and the Heckengäu chefs.
But we don't just offer hearty, traditional fare; our restaurants are also experts in fine dining , and their creative compositions go straight to the heart. The focus is on the ingredients, which the chef knows how to showcase perfectly without neglecting the flavor. It's a feast for both the eyes and the palate!
Nature park hosts
They are passionate about their cooking and will spoil you with delicacies from the Black Forest: the Nature Park innkeepers. Around 50 restaurateurs are located throughout the Black Forest Central/North Nature Park. They have joined forces to ensure the preservation of the cultural landscape . They pursue this goal – landscape conservation with knife and fork – with great dedication and many delicious ideas.
A restaurant in a nature park offers at least six regional dishes and a regional menu throughout the year . "Regional" means that the ingredients for these creations come from the two Black Forest nature parks.
The motto "Taste the Black Forest" This is meant quite literally! By using local products in their kitchens, the nature park innkeepers make an important contribution to preserving the typical Black Forest cultural landscape. Heckengäu chefs
The Heckengäu is a very special type of landscape in our east. Unlike the mostly dense Black Forest, it consists of open meadows and bushes and shrubs such as juniper heaths.
But what does the Heckengäu taste like?
The only way to find out is to try it, and two of our Heckengäu chef's dishes will do. Because what grows right next door is carefully prepared and lovingly combined before being served on your plate. And so, for example, the Swabian classic lentils and Spätzle becomes a wonderfully regional dish thanks to the Heckengäu lentils.
